Medical care

Medical care in Kenya is constantly improving and offers the best hospitals and doctors in the East African region. Prior to your travel, please make sure your health insurance covers your stay in Kenya. In case of medical emergencies in the Masai Mara, we are working together with AMREF, Africa’s leading provider of air ambulance and evacuation services. Patients can be evacuated to the nearest hospital or be repatriated via an AMREF Flying Doctors aircraft to anywhere on the globe. AMREF has a specially designed scheme for incoming tourists, the Tourist Evacuation Scheme. You can be registered for as little as 5 USD to be adequately covered during your stay in Kenya. Should
you wish to be registered with AMREF, kindly contact our booking office prior to your arrival in the Masai Mara.

Please note that you need a yellow fever vaccination and a stamped yellow fever certificate when travelling to Kenya. Kindly consult your physician prior to your vacation on additional and recommended vaccinations for Kenya. When booking with us, kindly let us know if you need any medical assistance or if you have special dietary requests. We will be happy to assist you.

Credit cards are widely accepted in Kenya. Kenyan Shillings can be withdrawn at any ATM with a credit or debit card (VISA, MASTER, Maestro). Please note that traveller cheques will not be accepted. You can also change USD (recommended are large denominations not older than 2006), Euro and British Pound.
